Registered Clinical Counsellor
I am grateful to be able to conduct work and be located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
My counselling style is relation-based and person-centred. I used this approach as a certified teacher in BC schools, where I taught and counselled children and youth for 37 years and continue to use this approach today, as a clinical counsellor. My interest includes working alongside individuals, couples, youth, children, and families who seek to make changes in their lives. I believe that everyone has the innate strength and knowledge to facilitate change in their lives and that people often know exactly the change they want to have happen but find it difficult to put those changes into action. I would like to be the counsellor who walks alongside people, in their journey, guiding, as I am needed.
As a cancer survivor, supporting and being a source of encouragement for individuals who may need assistance during their cancer experience from diagnosis, through treatment and then the adjustment to life afterwards is an issue I hold close to my heart. Lastly, I continue to expand my knowledge through continuing education opportunities in topics such as those listed below.
I look forward to working with you.
